Switching from HMRC Tools to Sage 50 Payroll which is leading to new tax codes being issued for employees. This is a known issue. If you want to read further you can download our free guide to fix this error!
The error is occurring because of inconsistent data in RTI Payroll ID field*. This has led to employees receiving new tax codes as when the codes do not match; HMRC presume that the employee has a 2ndincome!
If the RTI Payroll ID does not match your previous number, you can edit the RTI Payroll field. Hopefully this will avoid the headache for you and your employee.
If the employee has received a 2nd code they will need to contact HMRC to explain the reason why and to align the two ID’s.
